OGRA-WINAM ROTARY MALARIA PROJECT - May 11 2010
Mosquito nets DistributionThe event was geared towards fighting the deadly malaria disease which is very rampant in Dunga community being an area that is prone to attacks being near the lake where mosquitoes bread. The community was given free NETS with emphasis on Children under five and pregnant women who are most at RISK.

Omen Orphan Feeding Centre, Ombeyi
Omen Omen Feeding Project is situated in, Ramula Sub-Location. Ombeyi Location, Miwani Division, Muhoroni District in the greater Nyando. This area has an estimated population of 50,000 people.

Poultry Project at Omen Orphan Feeding Centre, Ombeyi
Omen The Omen Orphan Feeding Center at Ombeyi provides two hot meals a day (breakfast and lunch) to approximately 50 children from the surrounding community. The poultry project is being used as an income generating activity (IGA) to create the funds needed to sustain the feeding center.

Omen OGRA Medical Center & Community Hospital is committed to ensuring a healthy community by providing accessible, affordable, compassionate and quality healthcare services to individuals and families of all ages and economic backgrounds. It offers a wide-range of primary healthcare services provided by a dedicated team of well trained and qualified clinicians, nurses, laboratory technicians, community health workers, and support staff.

AMREF-MAANISHA
Amref OGRA Foundation received Ksh 1,170,000 for the period of January-December 2010 to conduct activities that promote behavior change among the young people while providing HIV/AIDS services in Nyando District. This far the Organisation has conducted sporting activities, youth dialogue forums and team building activities, magnet theatre and produced IEC materials for behavior change. The fund will also enable OGRA conduct outreach VCT and clinics, peer education campaigns and advocacy.

OSANI COMMUNITY HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER
OSANI COMMUNITY HEALTH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER Is one of Ogra’s satellite clinics situated in the hard to reach areas of Ndhiwa districts (formerly Homa Bay district). Osani serves a patient population of between 5000-6000 people. The average general patient attendance is between 25-30 patients per day. This translates to between 350- 400 patients per month. Other than Clinic services Osani has a number of community programs and activities as here under.

OASIS OF HOPE SECONDARY SCHOOL
Omen Oasis of hope secondary school is a charitable education institution that provides free and affordable secondary education to orphans and other bright and vulnerable children from poor backgrounds. OGRA Foundation helps in the running of the school as well as fundraising for its activities.

KENYA ORPHANS PROJECT (KOP)
Omen Kenyan Orphan Project is a charity organisation in the UK started in 2001 by medical students with the vision to fight against poverty, disease, social exclusion and injustice and to help improve the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Kenya.
OGRA Foundation continues to benefit from KOP through its OVC feeding program in Omen Feeding Centre where 50 school-going children are provided with two meals a day to enable them continues with their learning. For this financial year 2010 Ksh. 874,000.00 has been set aside to provide meals for the 50 OVCs and pay salaries to 5 staff.

NATIONAL AIDS CONTROL COUNCIL - TOWA PROJECT
For the year 2010 OGRA Foundation secured Ksh. 700,000 from National Aids Control Council (NACC) kitty to scale up uptake of voluntary medical male circumcision services (VMMC). This is to be achieved through community mobilization and sensitization activities and training of health care workers. The project aims at increasing acceptance as well as access to safe voluntary medical male circumcision among the male youth in Nyando District. The project is expected to kick off in July 2010.

Amref Educating a child is educating a whole Nation. OGRA Foundation is a Community-based, non-governmental organisation which is committed to promote health, socio-economic and cultural development among the resident communities of Nyanza.
