HIV/AIDS Services

OGRA Foundation currently supports 18 Government of Kenya Health facilities to implement HIV programs. As at March 2012, we are supporting HIV care and treatment for 6924 patients out of whom 767 are children. We have decentralized HIV related services to 100% of the facilities in our catchment area. In addition to this, through OGRA support, the facilities have managed to reduce mother to child transmission of HIV from 27% to 6%..

We also unvailed Tuberculosis Treatment, HIV Counseling and Testing to everyone in all facilities we support. The health facilities have been capacity built to offer 24 hour hospital deliveries which has seen the proportion of women delivering in hospitals increase.

Through a Comprehensive Care Clinic Patient Application Database, CPAD software has also been fully networked at OGRA Medical Centre. All service point are able to access the database to guide better health care provision for the HIV patients. The CPAD has alerts for patient management to detect patients who are failing treatment and those who are due for diagnostic test. The CPAD has greatly transformed the HIV care at OGRA MC by improving efficiency.
