With OGRA Foundation, James has worked as the Group Accountant in-charge of APHIA-II Nyanza Project (USAID Funded), Direct-Relief International Project, HIV Project (Funded by PEPFAR through ICAP/CDC),Global Fund, He holds MBA(Finance),a Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) degree from Maseno University.

20 years experience running complex, high impact Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) programs across Africa. Working with donors, stakeholders, governments and corporates, he has designed, managed and implemented HSS programs both locally (Kenya) and regionally within the EAC and SADEC ecosystem. Dr Mc’Obewa has diverse experience in International Development, Senior Executive Management, Resource Mobilization and Technical Advisory skills. He previously served as the Executive Director of NGOs Coordination Board in Kenya and Regional Medical Advisor (Africa) for Direct Relief International (www.directrelif.org). Dr Mc’Obewa also serves as the Chairman Board of Directors Marie Stopes Kenya(MSK) amongst other corporate boards.

Dr. Steve Okello
