USAID funded Aids, Population and Health Integrated Assistance II (APHIA II)

APHIA II stands for AIDS, Population and Health Integrated Assistance. Through this programme OGRA Foundation seeks to promote behaviour change and also inculcate health-seeking behaviour through an integrated HIV and AIDS prevention; and increased access to high quality reproductive health information at community level in 8 districts of Nyanza province.


On the average every three months, 9,000 Condom are distributed, 5,000 children dewormed, 4,000 mosquito nets treated and 4,000 Vitamin A supplements given to children in the entire project area. Through the Magnet theatre an average of 96,212 (42,993 male and 53,219 female) people are reached with information during these sessions every three months. 
The Teen events & video shows are meant to mobilize the youth for RH services. Sporting events are organized to mobilize young people for services and for health education. Teen mothers clubs are used to mobilize adolescent mothers for participation in events targeting their participation.  The teen events were accompanied with service provision in VCT, PMTCT, FP, MCH, malaria e.t.c. Video shows are used to communicate health information to the audience.

Our partners include WASOT-UK, Direct Relief International (DRI), KOP, GSK, ICAP, NACC/CACC,
the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the USAID funded Aids, Population and Health Integrated Assistance ii (APHIA ii) with who we are a designated Local Implementing Partner (LIP). Our key stakeholders are of-course the communities we work in.
